What you'll do We're excited to announce a dynamic opportunity for a talented Sr. Compensation Analyst, Temporary to join our growing team! This role offers the flexibility and convenience of fully remote work, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the United States. The Sr. Compensation Analyst is responsible for leading complex compensation projects and providing high-level analysis and consultation to HR and business leaders to ensure compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and compliant. The Sr. Compensation Analyst will leverage exceptional technical and analytical skills, with heavy emphasis on advanced Excel, to manage complex compensation data, optimize processes, and provide strategic insights that inform the company's reward programs. The day-to-day Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct technical, in-depth analysis of compensation data to identify trends, model compensation program costs, and ensure pay equity and market competitiveness. Develop and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and advanced calculated fields. Annual Compensation Planning: Assist with managing the end-to-end annual compensation review process within Workday, including system preparation, testing, training for managers, and final processing. Workday Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a functional and technical expert for the Workday Compensation and Advanced Compensation modules, including configuration, maintenance, and support. Benchmarking and Market Pricing: Conduct and participate in market salary surveys. Benchmark positions and develop competitive salary structures, grades, and ranges using market intelligence and survey data. Compliance and Audits: Ensure all compensation practices and programs comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Conduct regular audits within Workday to ensure data integrity and system accuracy. Training and Change Management: Support the development and delivery of training and communication materials related to compensation programs and Workday processes for employees and managers. Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of compensation processes by identifying opportunities for automation and optimization within the Workday platform. What you'll need Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field. 8+ years of progressive compensation experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years focused on Workday compensation management. Proficiency with Workday configuration, including business processes, eligibility rules, reports, and calculated fields. Demonstrates mastery of complex functions (e.g., INDEX-MATCH, XLOOKUP), Power Query, Power Pivot, macros (VBA), and data modeling. Ability to create dynamic and interactive dashboards using Excel to present compensation data, trends, and market analysis. Skilled in data validation, data cleansing, and structuring large, complex datasets for analysis. Strong understanding of compensation principles, market benchmarking, and regulatory compliance. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. US Citizenship is required. What will help you on the job Workday HCM, Workday Advanced Compensation, and Workday Pro certifications are highly preferred. Deep understanding of Compensation processes and experience delivering Workday-based solutions. Experience designing and managing sales compensation plans. Ability to navigate complex organizational changes and influence stakeholders at all levels. Salary range $129,500.00 - $204,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $161,000.00- $241,000.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
