The Category Manager, Logistics Services manages a portfolio of third-party transportation, fleet, couriers, and related logistics services. Reporting to the Director of Supply Management, this position partners with internal clients, Supply Management colleagues, cross-functional teams, and suppliers to develop category strategies, lead sourcing and negotiations, manage supplier performance, and improve cost, service, efficiency, and risk. Job Summary: The Category Manager, Logistics Services develops and executes category and sourcing strategies across assigned transportation, fleet, courier, and related logistics services. The position leads complex sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and performance management; analyzes spending, market conditions, and business requirements; and partners with stakeholders to deliver measurable improvements in cost, service, operational performance, and risk. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD: (Responsibilities) 1. Category Strategy & Planning. Develop, document, and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services based on business requirements, spend and demand analysis, market intelligence, supplier capabilities, risk, and total cost considerations. Build alignment with key business stakeholders and maintain a forward-looking pipeline of sourcing and value-creation opportunities. 2. Strategic Sourcing. Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy development through market assessment, competitive solicitation, supplier evaluation and selection, contracting, and implementation. Identify market innovation and emerging capabilities and bring forward suppliers and solutions that can create value for the organization. 3. Negotiation & Commercial Management. Develop strategies and lead negotiations for contracts and pricing, securing favorable terms and conditions while managing risk and ensuring compliance. 4. Cost, Value & Performance Improvement. Analyze procurement spend and identify, implement, and track opportunities to improve total cost, service, efficiency, financial performance, risk, and supply continuity without compromising quality or business requirements. Track and deliver measurable value through cost savings, cost avoidance, and other performance improvements. 5. Analysis & Business Cases. Analyze spend, cost drivers, market conditions, supplier capabilities, operational requirements, and other relevant information. Partner with Finance, Legal, Risk, Market Intelligence, Analytics, and other subject-matter experts as appropriate to evaluate alternatives, develop business cases, and support fact-based sourcing and category decisions. 6. Supplier Management & Performance. Identify and evaluate suppliers and establish appropriate performance expectations for new and existing relationships. Define KPIs, service levels, and governance requirements aligned with business requirements, quality standards, and mission objectives. Monitor supplier performance, address escalated issues, manage supplier risk, and drive corrective action and continuous improvement. 7. Stakeholder Management. Partner with internal clients and cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements, develop strategies, facilitate alignment, and support successful implementation of sourcing and supplier-management initiatives. 8. Category Governance & Reporting. Maintain appropriate category, sourcing, supplier, and project documentation and provide timely reporting on strategies, sourcing activities, supplier performance, risks, financial impact, and other key performance measures. #LI-Remote ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
