Manage, support, and engineer Windows server environments including deployment, automation, access control, and documentation while collaborating with QA and Dev teams.
5+ years IT experience with strong Windows Server platform knowledge, automation coding skills, familiarity with SQL and Oracle connections, and excellent customer service and communication skills.
Job Title: Windows Systems Admin Duration: 9+ Months (Possible extension) Location: Nashville, TN 37203 Remote Role Responsibilities: • The Windows Systems Administrator is responsible for identifying, analyzing, monitoring, supporting, architecting and engineering solutions. • Areas of responsibility involve OS, middleware, applications, and databases for pre-production servers. • Strong coding skills around automation is a MUST. • Must have experience in using Bitbucket, Artifactory, GitLab and a ticketing process. • Deploy, smoke test, and validate new code releases. Backup and restore environments to previous version in case of rollback • Maintain and control access to test environments through concept of least privilege • Provide a weekly status report for current projects • Review and provide recommendations to improve environment performance • Manage tickets and tasks assigned to provide detailed information on all support provided, recommended solutions, and improvements that are implemented • Provide technical assistance to other Systems Administrators as needed • Understand and document how entire environment and its dependencies is integrated • Spec and build out new environments as needed • Monitor and maintain standard documentation for policies, procedures and practices • Demonstrate effective time management and the ability to maintain multiple tasks • Apply effective communication and customer support to our QA and Dev teammates Education/Experience: • Bachelor's degree in information technology related fields or equivalent work experience • Emphasis on Windows Server platforms, 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2022 SQL Clustering, PowerShell Automation, IIS configuration, AD, DNS, VLANS, NetScaler, etc. • Familiarity with SQL connections and basic queries, Oracle connections, VMWare • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Customer Service and Information Technology • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively • Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups • Demonstrated professionalism and courtesy in responding to phone calls and emails • Strong Customer Service skills and the ability to train others in these skills • Occasional travel may be required
