JOB DESCRIPTION Index Calculation Analyst Location: Newark, DE (5 Days Onsite) Pay Rate: $30/hr W2 Duration: 6 Months (Extension Possible) Potential for FTE Conversion: Yes Schedule: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM EST (Flexibility required; occasional late days and early departures) No visa sponsorship (Candidates requiring sponsorship will not be considered) Position Overview The Index Calculation Analyst supports the maintenance and quality control of Global Fixed Income Benchmark Indices. This role involves large dataset analysis in Excel, daily bond price validation, index change monitoring, and end-of-day reporting for delivery to clients in New York. This is a fast-paced, detail-driven environment requiring strong analytical skills and proactive ownership. Top 3 Traits We Look For • Strong interest in financial markets and the landscape surrounding the role • Self-starter; proactive mindset • Exceptional attention to detail What a Typical Day Looks Like • Review and process daily index changes with appropriate prioritization • Monitor index change notifications and related communications • Perform daily bond price validation and identify analytical anomalies • Generate and publish end-of-day (EOD) and daily preview reports • Work with pricing vendors and internal technology teams to resolve discrepancies • Escalate issues promptly to leadership • Respond to client queries in a professional and timely manner Key Responsibilities • Daily validation of fixed income instrument pricing (developed & emerging markets) • Analyze large datasets in Excel to support index composition updates • Maintain month-end index rebalance and composition reports • Track new bond issuances, auctions, and buy-back activities • Complete all daily and monthly deliverables within strict deadlines • Participate in internal monthly meetings and presentations • Support index calculation engine operations and publication generation Required Qualifications • 1–3 years of experience in Fixed Income, Fund Valuation, Pricing, or related roles • Strong understanding of bonds and financial markets • Knowledge of corporate actions, index benchmarking, and fixed income products • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs required) • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and under pressure • Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred) • Ability to work until 7 PM EST and on U.S. holidays for global market close operations Preferred Qualifications • Experience with pricing vendors such as Bloomberg or Reuters • SQL or database knowledge • Operations, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Analyst, or Pricing Analyst background Disqualifiers • Candidates requiring visa sponsorship • Lack of Excel proficiency • No demonstrated interest in financial markets
