Vestas is the world's largest wind turbine manufacturing company with significant operations in the United States.      Lead Land Acquisition Manager, Development    The Lead Acquisition Specialist shall be responsible for the quality and effectiveness of the Real Estate acquisition campaigns across Steelhead's project portfolio. This role will directly manage inhouse land acquisition team in addition to guiding and advising the Land Campaign Manager and strategy for each project. This role reports to the Head of Real Estate Services and involves direction, supervision, advisement, and training of internal and contracted staff while engaged in real estate related activities.       Key Responsibilities    Lead the Land and Title Department   Supervise team of managers and agents in land acquisition and title.   Manage both in-house and contracted land acquisition teams    Mentor, coach and inform the accountability assessment of each project's Land Campaign Manager with respect to delivering on the relevant scope, strategy and quality of the land campaign, including effective management of contracted land agents, project acquisition strategy and effectiveness.   Determine internal staffing needs for projects on a continuing basis ensuring projects are staffed appropriately based on the skillsets of the team and the project's needs.   Develop, advise and determine procedures to support efficiency and quality acquisition plans for all projects; ensure both in-house and contracted land acquisition teams understand procedures and expectations; motivate and provide in-house and contract teams with necessary tools and skills to reach project goals and expectations.   Locate, hire and mentor in-house land managers    Partner with Real Estate Specialists and Land Campaign Managers to support the hiring of skilled and fitting contracted land acquisition team based on project needs and qualifiers requested by Real Estate Manager and Developer  Management and understanding of skills, capabilities and competencies of all staff associated with Real Estate acquisition efforts including internal land agents, Land Campaign Managers and external land contractors  Establish and maintain Key Performance Indicators for land team and contracted staff; determine standard data collection from each land campaign necessary for evaluating efficacy and support investment decisions.    Implement Land Acquisition Strategies for Utility Scale Wind   Collaborate with Public Engagement and Project Development teams to improve strategies for community engagement campaigns  Collaborate with the Development team to prepare and execute acquisition strategies for new project sites   Support Land Campaign Manager and Development team when necessary, including but not limited to shadowing in-person meetings with property owners and their representatives, strategizing on appropriate instruments and problem solving solutions to secure buildable land  Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with customers, landowners, state and local officials and other stakeholders through phone contact, newsletters, in-person meetings, public hearings, etc.      Requirements:   BA/BS Degree in Business, Real Estate, of Finance   8+ years of experience in land acquisition, title curative and development for utility-scale energy projects   Experience managing internal/external land agents  Experience reviewing, interpreting and resolving title issues, vesting issues and has in-depth knowledge in developing, negotiating and executing complex land agreements   Thorough understanding of wind energy and wind project development  Understanding and familiarity with title matters, land use, land (ALTA) surveys, GIS, and other real estate-related activities   Demonstrated ability to build relationships and interface effectively with cross-functional employee groups, contract workers and external stakeholders   Has in-depth knowledge of chain of title, surface lease agreements, and title curative documents   Skilled negotiating and problem-solving skills with emphasis on attention to detail   Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously   Comfortable being actively involved and boots on the ground."   High degree of emotional intelligence, working virtually in complex teams/environments   Proven success working with all levels of management   Proficient verbal and written communication skills, while possessing effective presentation skills as a spokesperson and public representative for Vestas Americas     Competencies:    Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including travel to job sites and corporate meetings as needed   Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, OneNote and Teams)   Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment   Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills; ability to add value through creative input and forward-thinking   Driven, resourceful, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment   Capability to motivate and bring together a diverse team in a respectful and positive manner      What We Offer:   We offer an exciting position with great development opportunities in an inspiring environment at the world's largest wind turbine producer.
