Job Title: Data Engineer - Ride and Fleet Software Company Overview: Vertex Sigma Software is a pioneering technology company dedicated to advancing autonomous mobility solutions. Role Overview: As a Data Engineer on the Ride and Fleet Software team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our autonomous ride services. You will collaborate closely with software engineers and data scientists to ensure seamless data flow and integrity across our systems. What You'll Do: - You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support real-time and batch processing. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources into a unified platform. - You will optimize data storage and retrieval to enhance system performance and reliability. - You will implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and consistency. - You will troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly to minimize service disruptions. - You will contribute to the design and implementation of data models that support analytics and machine learning. - You will document data engineering processes and best practices for team knowledge sharing. - You will stay current with emerging data technologies and recommend improvements to our data infrastructure. What You Bring: - 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles. - Proficiency in SQL and experience with data pipeline tools such as Apache Airflow or similar. - Strong programming skills in Python or Java. - Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. - Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience in the autonomous vehicle or mobility industry. - Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. - Background in data science or machine learning. - Experience with real-time data processing frameworks.
