Velvet Caviar is looking for a Senior Product Developer – Tech & Electronics to lead the development of new tech accessories, device platforms, and consumer electronics. From developing new protective case molds for the latest iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, iPad, Kindle, AirPods and other devices, to launching MagSafe accessories, charging products and other consumer electronics, you’ll be responsible for turning new product opportunities into production-ready products. You’ll work hands-on with overseas factories, industrial designers, engineers, and our internal Product team to develop new constructions, tooling, materials, components and functionality. You’ll own projects from initial concept and CAD through prototyping, testing, tooling approval and production handoff. Learn more about our brand by visiting our Instagram at @velvetcaviar and our website, velvetcaviar.com RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead development of new tech accessories and consumer electronics from concept through mass production • Develop new products across MagSafe, charging, power, travel electronics, and other emerging tech categories • Own development of new device case molds and tooling for iPhone, Samsung, iPad, Kindle, AirPods, and other devices • Work with factories and engineers to review CAD files, 3D designs, materials, construction, and technical specifications • Manage prototypes and T0/T1/T2 tooling samples, ensuring proper fit, function, quality, and durability • Source and negotiate with factories, component suppliers, and tooling vendors • Manage multiple development timelines and communicate daily with overseas factories • Establish product testing and QC standards, including applicable FCC, CE, RoHS, and safety requirements • Prepare approved products for production and partner with the Production Manager through initial manufacturing REQUIREMENTS: • 5+ years of product development experience in consumer electronics, mobile accessories, device cases, or related hardware • Experience developing injection-molded products and tooling from CAD through mass production • Strong understanding of CAD, 3D models, molds, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes • Experience with smartphone, tablet, wearable, charging, or other consumer tech products • Proven experience working directly with factories and engineers in China/Asia • Understanding of product testing, QC, and consumer electronics safety certifications • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple products and development timelines simultaneously • Strong technical problem-solving, costing, and vendor negotiation skills • Able to work in the Brooklyn office two days a week (Tuesday & Thursday) • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Engineering, or a similar field PERKS: • Strong Salary + Performance Bonuses • Hybrid schedule, in-office Tue/Thur • PTO days and paid Holidays off • 401k and Health Insurance coverage • Nice office at the Brooklyn Navy Yard • Be a key player in a growing brand! • Drinks, snacks, and team events Velvet Caviar is an equal-opportunity employer committed to a diverse workplace environment.
