The Opportunity The Business Development Analyst will support strategic teams to create insights from our data through development of dashboards, reports, visualizations, algorithms and tools to solve complex business problems for our portfolio growth organization. The successful candidate will be closely partnering with the business. This individual will need to be detailed focus with the ability to detect patterns and possible solutions for simple and complex datasets. Day in the Life Work with strategic team to identify, define and translate business needs into analytical solutions Design, develop, deploy and maintain reports and dashboards for business and client-use Perform analysis of findings to report on engagement, portfolio and industry trends Display proficiency with managing data from multiple data sources Desire to understand new or complex datasets and data structures Display creativity to ideate analytical solutions that support portfolio growth initiatives from robust data environment Ability to solicit business stakeholders’ objectives, key metrics, and performance measures to create business requirement documents and/or support review of business requirements to formulate technical requirements for development. Ability to review complex data sets for accuracy and dictate necessary modifications, when necessary, for quality assurance. Determine and understand the required data sources for a given analysis. Desire to learn and share knowledge and skills with team(s) to grow total impact to the organization Curiosity and passion about data, visualization and solving problems Creativity to determine the best solution for a real-world problem with quantitative data Experience with reporting, descriptive statistics, probability, and cleaning big datasets Ability to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences Willingness to question the validity, accuracy of data and assumptions Financial industry knowledge Desire to pursue business analytics and report development Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, math, statistics, computer science, information systems or equivalent technical field Experience working with business to support data and/or reporting initiatives Proficiency in MS Excel including experience creating pivot tables and formulas. Working knowledge of reporting and dashboards in Salesforce would be a plus Experience with data technologies, process, data mapping tools with integrated business models Experience in Financial Services industry Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in verbal, written and presentation formats in dealing with a broad range of constituencies, including senior management, professional staff, industry leaders, clients, and prospects Knowledge of analytical tools and real-time dashboards Knowledge of marketing automation tools such as Salesforce Knowledge of workflow tools Model high standards of confidentiality, discretion, ethics, independent judgment, and insightful decision making in dealing with all levels of internal personnel, clients, potential business partners and vendors Demonstrated ability to visualize the big picture and direct efficient deployment of resources About Velera At Velera we are committed to fostering a workplace where every employee feels valued, respected, and connected.
