Lead omni-channel shopper strategy, develop path-to-purchase journey maps, analyze shopper data, collaborate across teams, and mentor junior strategists.
5-7 years in shopper marketing or related fields with strong analytics, storytelling, collaboration, and leadership skills, plus hybrid work model with some travel.
Description The Omni-Channel Shopper Strategist is a mid- to senior-level role designed for someone passionate about how people shop, discover, and purchase across today’s retail and digital ecosystem. This role isn’t just about strategy on paper — it’s about forging connections between consumer insight, shopper behavior, and path-to-purchase execution that deliver measurable results. You’ll lead omni-channel journey mapping, retail media planning, and shopper activation strategies, uncover insights from shopper and consumer data, and collaborate across creative, media, PR, and account teams to ensure programs are grounded in real consumer behavior and retailer realities. Equal parts strategist, storyteller, and mentor, you’ll translate complex data into clear, actionable plans while coaching a junior strategist and ensuring client programs influence shoppers from awareness to conversion to loyalty. What You’ll Do • Omni-Channel Shopper Strategy: Translate brand and business objectives into integrated shopper strategies that connect retail, e-commerce, social, experiential, and in-store touchpoints. • Path-to-Purchase Mapping: Develop shopper journey maps that identify barriers and triggers across awareness, consideration, trial, conversion, and loyalty. • Insights & Analytics: Leverage tools (Nielsen, IRI, Numerator, retailer data portals, etc.) to identify growth opportunities and shopper trends. • Storytelling: Turn shopper and consumer data into clear narratives that inspire cross-functional teams and clients. • Collaboration: Partner with account, creative, PR, and media teams to ensure ideas are consumer-first and retail-ready. • Retail Media & Activation: Evaluate shopper media programs, retailer-specific activations, and e-commerce platforms; deliver reporting with optimization recommendations. • Mentorship: Manage and coach a Public Relations Strategist, helping them understand shopper and omnichannel strategy. • Vendor Partnership: Build strong partnerships with shopper media and retail platforms to activate integrated campaigns. Requirements What We’re Looking For • Experience: 5–7 years in shopper marketing, retail media, consumer insights, or integrated strategy (agency or CPG experience strongly preferred). • Shopper & Consumer Knowledge: Deep knowledge of the path to purchase and how omni-channel experiences shape decisions. • Analytics Skills: Comfort with category/shopper data platforms and retailer media dashboards. • Strategic Storytelling: Ability to connect data to decisions in a way that inspires creative and media planning. • Collaboration & Leadership: Track record of mentoring talent and working across functions. • Mindset: A balance of analytical rigor and creative problem-solving. Additional Details • Travel: Up to ~15% • Work Model: Hybrid – in-office Monday, Wednesday, Thursday; remote Tuesday and Friday. Offices in Harrisburg, Philadelphia, or Atlanta. Why Pavone Group?
