WORK TYPE: • Part-time, hourly role (up to 20 hours per week) • Remote work environment • Schedule may vary based on competition timelines and peak workload periods Duration • Temporary/Seasonal role through May 22 (end of competition season) LOCATION: Remote, United States COMPENSATION: The pay rate for this position is $17-25 hourly. The base salary will vary based on criteria such as education, experience and qualifications of the applicant, location, internal equity, and alignment with the market. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: The Seasonal Competition Support role provides short-term operational support to the Competition Experience team during peak season. This role is responsible for executing defined, high-impact competition processes that require deep institutional knowledge, precision, and adherence to established timelines. The position is temporary and hourly, with a clearly defined scope and end date aligned to the conclusion of the competition season. WHAT YOU WILL DO: In-Person Competitions • Lead the Bid Awarding Process for in-person competitions, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely execution • Partner with internal stakeholders to confirm bid outcomes and resolve discrepancies as needed Virtual Competitions • Manage all virtual competition award responsibilities, including setup, execution, and follow-through • Ensure virtual competition processes align with established standards and timelines • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtual competition awards and outcomes Scope & Boundaries of Role • This role does not include people leadership or strategic planning responsibilities • All non-core competition tasks and broader operational responsibilities are assigned to other team members • Work is focused exclusively on execution and support of defined competition award functions QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities • Demonstrated understanding of bid awarding processes and virtual competition execution • High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines • Ability to work independently with limited oversight Education/Experience • Prior experience with Varsity competition operations strongly preferred Physical Requirements While not participating in an event this job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. Ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC’s, laptop, telephone will be required. During events the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (5 hours plus) is required. The ability to communicate with customers and colleagues using the following but not limited to radio, walkie talkie, text message and email is required. The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and manipulate equipment that is a minimum of 30 lbs. is required.
