Learn more at Our Commitment to Safety - Varsity.com. LOCATION DETAILS: Remote in the United States WORK HOURS: Full Time, Monday through Friday – 8 am to 5 pm. Weekend work may be necessary. COMPENSATION: The standard salary range for this role is $61,000 – S77,000 annually. The base salary will vary based on criteria such as education, experience and qualifications of the applicant, location, internal equity, and alignment with the market. TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Remote plus travel to customers for in-person design sessions both in our corporate office located in Farmer’s Branch TX, Memphis, TN or on location within North America. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT As a Senior Designer working on projects, you will work in close collaboration with other creative and technical disciplines to provide our customers with exceptional experience. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, an impeccable design aesthetic, a keen eye for detail, and strong conceptual thinking. Senior Designer will be expected to travel to customers for in-person design sessions both in our corporate office located in Farmer’s Branch TX, Memphis, TN or on location within North America. WHAT YOU WILL DO Collaborate with the Design Director on the direction for the styling, fabrication, and color development of uniform category. Collaborate with Design Director on overarching concept to independently produce seasonal trends and color direction. Conceptualize direct vision for branding of all uniform products. Independently produce development concepts and oversee execution of sampling. Understand and incorporate market intelligence and business strategy into product design. Design and recommend product lines with consideration given to trends, silhouettes, and cost of goods. Conceptualize and oversee print and graphic development while collaborating with the Print Team. Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members (Sales, Production and Lettering) through communication and problem solving. Shop the market and oversee sourcing for new and innovative fabrics, trims, and technology. Prepare for, attend, and present at internal meetings and external buyer meetings. Attend fittings for all relevant product categories. Demonstrate a working knowledge of business perspective while designing brand appropriate concepts. Work closely with the Pattern dept. to address construction details and / or concerns. Work hand in hand with the technical design team to ensure consistent fit and overall product quality Actively collaborate with other Design team and Product Development members. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Very strong color and style sensibility for uniforms and apparel in athleisure, and activewear spaces to support brand. Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously to help meet team deadlines. Strong attention to detail in design and project management. Ability to create design solutions for multiple deadline–driven assignments simultaneously. A keen understanding of the needs, motivations, and aspirations of our audiences, so that you can speak to them in the most effective, compelling way. Strong time management while balancing daily and long-term tasks, and multiple workstreams moving forward simultaneously. Excellent verbal and visual communication skills. Strong social skills with ability to cultivate cross-functional partnership and an open, positive, and collaborative environment Education/Experience 7+ years of cheer uniform or sportswear design experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or another relevant field. Technical skills in areas such as pattern cutting, grading, and garment construction. Expert-level proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and PLM. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This job operates in a professional office environment. It is largely a sedentary role, with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
