Full Description

The Discovery Analyst plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making by uncovering insights, validating data sources, and ensuring the usability of data products for analytics consumption. This position bridges technical and business teams to deliver high-quality, meaningful, and accessible data solutions. The role requires close partnership and support of the Data Product Manager and Scrum Team to ensure alignment on priorities, backlog refinement, and delivery of data capabilities. Core Responsibilities Data Exploration & Validation: Analyze and assess data sources for analytical readiness and business alignment. Acquire and compile structured and unstructured data, verifying its quality, accuracy, and reasonableness. Perform analyses of historical data to surface trends and insights using advanced analytical methods. Validate analytical techniques employed by other analysts. Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business questions into actionable data solutions. Engage with internal partners to understand business strategy, questions, and goals. Participate in cross-divisional data projects and resolve operational challenges. Prototyping & Data Storytelling: Build visualizations and proof-of-concepts to demonstrate data value and insights. Prepare and deliver visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business partners to implement. Develop, own, and manage recurring analytic or reporting processes. Data Quality & Governance: Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, gaps, and ensure compliance with governance standards. User Enablement: Empower non-technical users to leverage data products effectively through documentation and training. Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation in analytics tools and methods. Proactively expand knowledge of business and analytics, share best practices, and document them. Serve as a subject matter expert for the team and the analytic organization. Required Skills & Tools: Technical Tools: Athena, Dremio, Collibra, Excel, Tableau/Power BI Collaboration Tools: JIRA, Confluence, Mural/Figma Data Governance & Visualization: Collibra for governance, Tableau for prototyping and storytelling Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Preferred Qualifications: 2-3 years work experience in the data analytics field , financial services industry Familiarity with agile practices and backlog management tools Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Preferences: Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
