Our client is seeking an experienced interim accounting professional who can step in with confidence to support year-end close and audit readiness in a mission-driven environment. This individual brings a steady, solutions-oriented mindset, deep familiarity with government or non-profit audits, and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Success in this role requires discretion, technical depth, and a genuine alignment with purpose-driven work. This role is fully remote from anywhere in the state of Oregon. Candidates living outside of Oregon will not be considered. Accounting Consultant – Non-Profit + Government Audit Responsibilities • Lead preparation activities to close the fiscal year and ensure readiness for an upcoming government and financial statement audit. • Re-perform established close and audit preparation processes using prior-year workpapers and documentation. • Support Single Audit requirements, including Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) preparation, grant reconciliations, and supporting documentation. • Review, analyze, and resolve accounting variances, discrepancies, and audit-related inquiries. • Provide targeted, project-based year-end accounting support in close partnership with senior finance leadership. Accounting Consultant – Non-Profit + Government Audit Qualifications • Proven experience leading a Single Audit within government, non-profit, and/or tribal organizations. • Strong working knowledge GAAP, GASB, and non-profit or government accounting standards, including SEFA preparation. • Hands-on experience with NetSuite is highly preferred; other cloud-based ERP experience considered. • Prior ownership of audit and close processes at a senior or controller-level capacity. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
