Position Summary The Senior Manager – Supply Chain Inventory is responsible for leading inventory planning, purchasing, and coordination activities outside the scope of core inventory systems, ensuring seamless inventory flow across the end-to-end supply chain. This role oversees private label planning, import order and shipment coordination, seasonal inventory strategies, and excess inventory-to-cash conversion efforts. In addition, this role partners closely with logistics providers and internal stakeholders to share inbound receipt forecasts based on purchasing activity, coordinate import shipments across North America, and identify opportunities to improve visibility, efficiency, and inventory management integration across the supply chain. Success in this role is measured by improved inventory productivity, reduced risk, and stronger alignment between planning, logistics, and execution. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities • Lead and manage a team of planners responsible for offline, private label, import, and seasonal inventory planning, ensuring effective execution of responsibilities and ongoing professional development. • Oversee planning and purchasing of private label products, ensuring reliable supply, cost efficiency, and alignment with sales and category strategies. • Manage import planning and execution, including demand forecasting, purchase quantity planning, and coordination with global suppliers to optimize lead times, landed costs, and service levels. • Collaborate closely with logistics partners to: • Share forward-looking forecasts of inbound receipts based on purchasing and demand plans • Coordinate import shipments across North America to support timely receipt and distribution • Improve visibility to in-transit inventory and expected arrival timing • Develop and execute seasonal inventory plans in partnership with Sales, Category Management, Operations, and Logistics to support promotions, demand surges, and peak seasons. • Identify and lead opportunities to improve seamless inventory management across the supply chain, including process improvements, handoffs, data flows, and planning coordination among purchasing, logistics, and inventory teams. • Lead excess inventory management efforts, developing strategies to convert nonproductive inventory into cash while minimizing margin and service impacts. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Category Management, Operations, and Logistics to align inventory plans with corporate objectives, financial targets, and service expectations. • Apply analytical creativity to address planning challenges not fully supported by existing systems and to design new approaches where standard processes fall short. • Monitor, report, and continuously improve performance metrics related to inventory productivity, private label performance, imports, seasonal planning, inbound service levels, and excess inventory reduction. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to supply chain inventory planning, tools, reporting, and processes. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Job Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or a related field. • 7–10 years of progressive experience in inventory management, supply chain planning, or demand planning, with demonstrated people leadership experience. • Strong understanding of private label, import supply chains, and multi-node inventory planning. • Experience collaborating with third-party logistics providers and transportation partners. • Proven ability to connect purchasing activity with inbound receipt forecasting and execution. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design solutions outside of standard systems. • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. • Proficiency with ERP and supply chain planning systems; advanced Excel and data analysis skills required.
