We are seeking a highly knowledgeable Cyber Policy and Strategy Analyst to provide expertise in cybersecurity and privacy policy development, interpretation, and strategic planning. This role ensures organizational policies align with NIST, OMB, FISMA, and other applicable federal requirements while promoting Section 508 compliance. The SME engages stakeholders to develop, review, and maintain policies that guide cybersecurity and privacy activities across the enterprise. Required Experience: • 7+ years of cybersecurity experience • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience supporting enterprise cybersecurity and privacy policy • BA/BS in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent work experience or formal legal training with security and privacy specialization • At least 3-5 years of practical knowledge of policy areas, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. • Legal training and experience in policy development a plus • Preferred Certifications: EDRP, CEH, FAC-P/PM, CFCP, GISP, GSEC, ITIL Foundations, CGEIT, CISM, CAP, CISSP, CISSP-ISSMP • Expertise in drafting, editing, publishing, and communicating cybersecurity and privacy policy. • Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to build consensus. • Ability to evaluate cybersecurity and privacy risks and identify policy gaps. • Skilled in preparing briefings, reports, and presentations for senior leadership. • Ability to leverage best practices, emerging technologies, and lessons learned from external organizations. • NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and other federal cybersecurity standards. • Cybersecurity and privacy principles, threats, and vulnerabilities. • Network, system, and application security concepts, including encryption and privacy architecture. • Cloud security and enterprise incident response programs. • Compliance standards for PII, PCI, and other regulated data. • Organizational processes, risk assessment, and management methodologies. • Process improvement frameworks (e.g., CMMI, ITIL). Responsibilities: • Develop, maintain, and implement cybersecurity and privacy strategies, policies, and plans aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. • Review existing and proposed policies with stakeholders; interpret and integrate applicable laws, statutes, and regulations. • Provide policy guidance to management, staff, and users; facilitate consensus on proposed policy changes. • Define and integrate current and future mission environments into policy frameworks. • Monitor compliance with cybersecurity and privacy policies, principles, and practices. • Participate in audits and assessments of cybersecurity and privacy programs and projects. • Promote awareness of cybersecurity and privacy policies across the organization. • Serve on agency security and privacy policy boards; advocate for workforce training and resources. • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), briefings, and presentation materials to communicate policy guidance. • Identify gaps in policy implementation and recommend improvements. • Map cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational policies (confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation). It has been benchmarked in relation to the scope of the role, market rate, and internal equity. The salary for this role is expected to be in the $100,000 - $125,000 range. Where a candidate falls within the band can be determined based on one or more of the following: skillset, experience level, achievements, education, geographic location, security clearance, involvement in corporate tasks, and other non-discriminatory factors. In addition to the base salary, this role will include benefits as described below.
