Position: Clinical Data Analyst (Medical Terminology & SQL Analytics) Location: Remote Employment: Contract Job Description: We are looking for a Clinical Expert with strong knowledge of medical coding systems and advanced SQL skills to support terminology coverage and completeness metrics across multiple clinical domains. This role involves hands-on data analysis, terminology evaluation, and content expansion initiatives, especially in Oncology and Rare Diseases. Key Responsibilities Coverage & Completeness Analysis • Write and execute complex SQL queries to calculate domain-level coverage metrics. • Define numerator/denominator logic for coverage metrics in collaboration with SMEs. • Track and report improvements in terminology coverage over time. Domain Expertise • Oncology: Evaluate coverage for cancer concepts, staging, biomarkers, and treatments. • Rare Diseases: Assess coverage using Mondo codes and identify gaps in synonyms and related concepts. Terminology & Data Model • Work with IMO terminology data models (IMO Concept DB, knowledge graphs). • Understand SNOMED CT hierarchies as represented in IMO databases. External Data Evaluation • Analyze external sources such as ClinicalTrials.gov. • Identify gaps related to inclusion/exclusion criteria, biomarkers, and treatment history. • Prioritize trials for terminology content expansion. Quality & Process Improvement • Perform feasibility assessments for coverage enhancements. • Document processes and support continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills & Qualifications • Clinical background (Physician, Nurse, or equivalent). • Strong knowledge of medical coding systems: • ICD, CPT, HCPCS, SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm, NDC. • Advanced SQL skills (complex relational queries). • Experience with EHRs and clinical documentation. • Familiarity with terminology mapping and hierarchical models.
