Manager, Accounting Mission-Driven, Non-Profit Institution Overview: Responsible for managing daily accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory compliance, and supporting institutional reporting and audits in a not-for-profit academic environment. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and month/year-end close processes. • Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal/state regulations, institutional policies, and not-for-profit accounting standards. • Lead preparation for external audits, tax filings (e.g., IRS 990/990-T), and NCAA financial reporting. • Maintain internal controls, develop financial policies, and ensure Uniform Guidance adherence. • Supervise accounting staff and support leadership with financial analysis and special projects. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s in Accounting (CPA or MBA preferred). • 5–7 years relevant experience. • Strong Excel skills; knowledge of Ellucian Colleague® a plus. • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. • Able to work independently and collaboratively across all levels.
