Full Description

Title: Program Financial Operations Manager Company: Privately held software manufacturing company Compensation: $150,000-$160,000 Location: Remote, San Diego based As a Program Financial Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of diverse programs. You will collaborate closely with Program Managers and cross-functional teams to maintain accurate cost and schedule performance, ensuring programs are executed in alignment with established baselines and company standards. In this role, you will create, maintain, and status program schedules in Microsoft Project, establish cost baselines, and manage the development and monitoring of realistic Estimates at Complete (EACs). You will provide ongoing financial guidance to the Program Manager, helping drive strong program performance and a positive customer experience. You will co-own program financial and scheduling outcomes alongside the Program Manager and leverage your working knowledge of Earned Value Management to deliver clear performance metrics and insights. Additionally, you will support compliance with company processes, develop a foundational understanding of program technical content, and present schedule, cost, and performance updates to leadership during monthly reviews. You will maintain the program risk register, oversee scope/schedule/cost changes, and work closely with Program Managers, finance partners, engineering teams, and functional groups within a highly collaborative environment. Duties & Responsibilities • Partner with the Program Manager to establish schedule and cost baselines. • Maintain and status program schedules in Microsoft Project. • Track program performance monthly and update EACs. • Review and approve procurement requests in accordance with program needs. • Review labor reports and provide guidance to program teams. • Create and maintain the program risk register with the Program Manager. • Support implementation of mitigation plans when program risks require action. • Review and monitor financial obligations and ensure accuracy across program records. • Present financial, schedule, and performance updates during monthly program reviews. • Ensure compliance with company policies, processes, and program control standards. Requirements • Experience in program financial operations, project accounting, or program controls. • Proficiency in project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project) and financial management systems. • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost/schedule performance reporting. • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance, engineering, and program management. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Preferences • Advanced degree in Business, Finance, or related field. • Experience with Netsuite and project management tools. • Experience managing program risks, opportunities, and cost/schedule changes.
