Job Description: Procurement Specialist Location: Homewood, AL Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 (DOE) + bonus and benefits We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our client's team. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive quality products in a timely manner, all while maintaining the highest standards of safety, legality, and quality. The Procurement Specialist will lead strategic initiatives and industry-related projects. Responsibilities: • Maintain records of purchases, costs, deliveries, and inventory. • Research and source products from various channels, negotiating deals for the best terms. • Ensure timely delivery of goods, addressing any issues with undelivered or incorrect items. • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions. • Monitor sales records and economic conditions to anticipate customer buying patterns. • Communicate with Sales and other departments to understand customer needs. • Manage vendor communication and Certificate Of Analysis record collection. • Arrange cost-effective transportation for inbound products. • Monitor and ensure supplier compliance with safety, quality, and legal requirements. • Obtain and upload technical specifications for all products. • Assist in tracing products during manufacturer recalls Requirements: • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. • Strong reading comprehension and effective written communication. • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills. • Exceptional planning and organizational skills. • Attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Great Plains Dynamics. • Positive work attitude, resourcefulness, flexibility, and a strong work ethic. Experience & Education: • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. • 2-4 years of experience in a Procurement or similar role. • Experience in the food industry is a plus.
