Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care across various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency departments, and specialized areas such as dermatology, geriatrics, and surgical units. This role requires a strong foundation in medical procedures, administrative support, and patient service, with experience in hospital and trauma center environments preferred. The Certified Medical Assistant will play a vital role in supporting physicians and healthcare professionals by ensuring efficient clinical operations and delivering compassionate patient care. Duties • Assist with patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs and updating medical histories • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings • Administer medications and injections following physician orders while adhering to safety protocols • Operate EHR systems accurately for documentation of patient information, ICD coding, and treatment records • Support physicians during procedures such as X-ray imaging or minor surgical interventions • Monitor patient physiology and respond promptly to changes in condition during urgent or emergency care situations • Assist with specimen collection, basic laboratory tests, and equipment setup for diagnostic procedures • Provide patient education on medication administration, post-procedure care, and health maintenance • Maintain clinical supplies and ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of equipment in compliance with hospital standards • Support medical administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, insurance documentation, and follow-up coordination Skills • Proven experience in hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics; experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, ICD coding, and pharmacology • Proficiency with EHR systems and medical record management software • Ability to perform clinical skills such as vital signs measurement, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and basic life support (BLS) certification required • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU) • Familiarity with hospital experience across medical-surgical units and internal medicine practices • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or trauma centers • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient health outcomes while working within a dynamic healthcare environment that values professionalism and excellence in patient care. #Medical1 Job Type: Contract Pay: $20.00 per hour Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Vision insurance Experience: • Medical Assistant: 2 years (Preferred) License/Certification: • BLS Certification (Preferred) • CCMA Certification (Preferred) Ability to Commute: • Auburn Hills, MI (Preferred) Work Location: On the road
