Position Title: Continuing Education Program Manager Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Regular Job Profile: Cont Edu Prog Mgr Job Duties: This Program Manager position is expected to support SCE’s commitment to ‘leading change’ through competency-based programming, promoting local and global collaborations, and introducing innovative programming to remain current with customer needs and changes in the workplace world. The primary responsibility of this Program Manager is to engage with employers in corporate and non-profit organizations to identify unmet training needs for businesses and conference roles. Additionally, the Program Manager will collaborate with current customers and corporate partners to maintain and expand public and customized courses and certificates in areas such as Project Management and Agile. This role also involves developing and delivering courses to meet workforce development needs. The position includes organizing the Women Leaders Conference, which is expected to host 450 in-person attendees and 100 virtual participants, as well as assisting in recruiting sponsors for the event. Under general supervision and reporting to the Continuing Education Associate Director, the position leads and supervises all aspects of department programming and is expected to perform a wide variety of complex duties exercising good judgment and demonstrating a high level of professionalism and effectiveness in successfully supporting the delivery of face- to-face and online noncredit courses. Communication and working collaboratively with the business community, professional organizations, instructors, participants, staff and student workers are critical to the success of the programs. Ability to work in the office; hybrid work opportunities may be reviewed after six months of employment Duties and Responsibilities: Manage project management, agile, scrum, technology, and organize a large conference with many stakeholders. Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, technology, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors, as well as professional organizations, to understand needs and trends. Oversee day-to-day program details, including instructor contracts, enrollment management, and delivery logistics. Meet with potential and current participants to discuss their training needs and career goals. Set the strategy and manage all aspects of the annual Women Leaders Conference, including leading the internal team and advisory council. Collaborate with the development director to secure sponsorships, set levels, develop relationships, and fulfill commitments to sponsors. Identify training gaps to meet employer needs in high-demand business areas such as project management, agile, marketing, and workforce development. Create new courses and programs to prepare individuals for in-demand jobs, and recruit, hire, and coach instructors with relevant expertise. Collaborate with custom program specialists to write and submit training proposals for customized training and generate additional program revenue. Monitor enrollments, evaluate program activity, and collaborate with SCE marketing staff to develop strategic marketing plans, including defining audiences and writing course descriptions. Schedule public courses and customized training programs for corporations, including conferences (instructors, participants, rooms, refreshments, and materials). Develop and manage program budgets with the associate director, ensuring positive financial outcomes and overall profitability. Assess and evaluate program/course relevance, instructors, course content, and workforce needs, and make changes as necessary.
