As a leader in outside plant (OSP) engineering, we deliver high-performance fiber projects that empower communities across the U.S. We’re seeking an experienced OSP Engineering Field Manager to lead field engineering teams, oversee survey operations, and ensure accurate, timely data collection for outside plant fiber projects. This role will initially involve a strong field presence during crew training and onboarding, followed by a transition to a more balanced mix of field and remote office responsibilities. Responsibilities: Lead and manage field engineers, survey crews, and vendors performing route surveys, site audits, and as-built verifications; Ensure field data collection (pole data, underground locates, as-builts) is complete, accurate, and on schedule, with in- depth Katapult expertise; Provide leadership, coaching, and safety oversight for field teams, fostering a culture of excellence and compliance; Review field survey packages to ensure adherence to industry, client, and regulatory standards (BICSI, NESC, OSHA); Coordinate closely with design, permitting, and project management teams to resolve field/design conflicts efficiently; Track project progress, report key metrics, and support communications with stakeholders. Strong background in OSP fiber and copper infrastructure; Proven experience managing field teams, survey crews, or contractors; Proficiency with GIS mapping and field data collection tools (Katapult, ESRI Field Maps, etc.); Deep knowledge of industry standards and regulations (BICSI, NESC, OSHA); Certifications such as BICSI or PMP are a plus; Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; Familiarity with project management tools such as Smartsheet to track progress and reporting.
