The University of Texas Police Department is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager of Workplace Violence Prevention to lead strategic efforts in fostering a safe and secure institutional environment. Position Summary: • Workplace Violence Prevention Manager is critical in formulating and implementing strategies, programs, and initiatives aimed at cultivating workplace violence prevention, interventions, and mitigation efforts. Achieving success in this capacity relies on a cooperative, cross-functional, and integrated team approach, in accordance with institutional policies and accreditation standards, to enhance the institution's safety, well-being, and overall security. Position Key Accountabilities: • In collaboration with leadership, develop strategic plans for the institutional workplace violence prevention program, and implement program initiatives using data-driven and evidence-based practices to deliver high-quality, effective violence prevention services. • Work with assigned staff and team members to identify opportunities and suggest new initiatives and partnerships within the division and institution. • Conduct annual workplace violence site assessment and provide program and data enhancement recommendations. • Contributes to the evolution of program technology systems and identifying future technological requirements. • Generate reports, create presentations, and make recommendations with data presented in appropriate formats. • Conduct accurate analysis and reporting on designated focus areas and present to management. • Implement key performance indicators and other measurable metrics and provide updates on the Workplace Violence Prevention program objectives. • Develop and enhance partnerships with human resources and other groups to prevent, intervene, and address workplace violence that affects employees, student, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community. • Oversee team engagement, track related milestones, and support prevention-focused program effectiveness. • Manage interactions between other internal functions as needed. Provide leadership to assigned reports. • Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning. • Performs other duties as assigned. Certification/Skills: • Project Management Professional (PMP) by Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred Minimum Education: • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, healthcare administration, program management, or related field required Master's Degree in business administration or healthcare administration preferred Minimum Experience: • 5 years of experience in healthcare, including three years of leadership, management or project management experience. required Physical Requirements: • Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Security Sensitive: • This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position. Personnel in such positions, and similarly situated state contractors, will be routinely reviewed to determine whether things such as criminal history or continuous connections to the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the applicant, employee, or contractor from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.
