Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field, with at least 7 years of experience in marketing, communications, or brand management, preferably within nonprofits or sports organizations.

For over 100 years USTA Mid-Atlantic has been promoting and developing the growth of tennis in the region. There are 2.7 million active and interested tennis players in the Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia region. The mission to grow the sport has not wavered and remains more relevant than ever. The many health and social benefits of tennis have made tennis more popular than ever, and USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation’s programs and outreach are rising to meet that demand. The Director of Marketing and Communications, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, develops and implements integrated marketing and communications strategies that advance the USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation’s mission and strategic priorities. This position ensures cohesive messaging, brand consistency, and data-informed marketing approaches that grow awareness of tennis, inspire participation, and strengthen the Foundation’s reputation among players, donors, and community partners. The role is remote, but the person must be based in DC, Maryland, Virgina or West Virginia. Key Responsibilities • Marketing & Brand Development • Strategic Leadership & Organizational Alignment • Communications, Media Relations & Public Affairs • Philanthropic Marketing & Events Support • Digital Strategy & Content Management Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in related marketing, communications, and/or public relations fields required • Master’s Degree in related marketing, communications, and/or public relations fields preferred • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, or brand management, ideally within a nonprofit, foundation, or sports-related organization • Proven success in developing and implementing integrated marketing strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and revenue growth • Demonstrated experience managing a team and budget in a collaborative, fastpaced environment • Strong storytelling and communication skills with the ability to translate mission and impact into compelling narratives • Experience managing media relations, digital marketing, and multi-channel campaigns • Experience in philanthropic or fundraising marketing preferred • Passion for sport, community development, and advancing access to play Compensation • $140,000–$160,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus comprehensive benefits Contact To explore this opportunity in confidence, complete a profile here or contact a search lead below.
