To learn more about our work, please go to our official website at www.refugees.org [http://www.refugees.org].  OVERVIEW   The Refugee Youth Resource Center was established to improve outcomes for refugee children, youth, and their families through providing education, resources, and support to refugee-serving agencies. The Training & Resource Specialist is responsible for conducting trainings and coordinating professional development opportunities for staff at refugee serving agencies, including ORR funded refugee resettlement programs and other providers including educators, child welfare, law enforcement, and others.  The position will be responsible for the development of training materials for both live and online self-paced trainings, written and video educational materials for refugee youth and families, as well as resources to be utilized by staff and other social service providers working with refugee youth with a focus on promoting the provision of child welfare centric, trauma informed services. The position reports to the Program Manager of the Refugee Youth Resource Center.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   * Organize, develop, and deliver live high-quality training, coaching, and technical assistance services for refugee-serving agency staff, including case managers, social workers, supervisors, support staff, clinicians, attorneys, and other multidisciplinary staff; * Facilitate trainings with refugee-serving agency staff in a live online format, through recorded webinars and e-learning modules, and onsite on an as needed basis; * Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of regular trainings in the areas of child welfare, behavioral health, child development, trauma informed care, and other topics identified to support best practices for providers working with refugee youth; * Develop and facilitate tailored training curriculum in response to targeted needs identified by refugee-serving providers; * Conduct training needs assessments and analyze various data to identify training needs;  * Analyze and respond to training evaluations to improve presentation content, delivery, and effectiveness;  * Develop educational videos and handouts in multiple languages for refugee youth and their families; * Create written and video resources for staff and other social service providers working with refugee youth to promote providers’ knowledge and use of best practices; * Research relevant subject matter/topics to create accurate and relevant training and support materials; * Maintain working knowledge of best practices and trends in the field, as well as external relevant online resources and materials to share with staff and other providers through the Refugee Youth Resource Center; * Conduct outreach and coordinate with external organizations/subject matter experts for technical assistance, training, and resource development, and; * Other duties as assigned by supervisor. All job duties indicated are not to be an exhaustive statement and other job-related duties may be assigned as required by the supervisor(s).      POSITION REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science, education, or social services field with at least three years’ experience in staff training, case management, child welfare, and/or working with refugee children and youth; * Prior experience working in domestic refugee resettlement is required; * Prior experience providing training to professional staff is required; * Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills;  * Experience in training and resource development development, instructional design, video production, and graphic design highly preferred;  * High proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically proficiency with Word, Power Point and Excel is required;  * Strong technology skills and ability to effectively utilize web-based training platforms;  * Experience with e-learning preferred (Articulate 360); * Proficiency in other languages highly preferred;  * Strict adherence to timeframes, policy, and procedures; * Ability to prioritize duties and multi-task in a fast-paced environment; * Ability to work well independently and in a team; * Ability to track and analyze data; * Position is remote and the candidate must have an appropriate workspace to complete documentation, phone calls, and video conferencing; * Willing to travel a few times annually; * Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to comply with mandatory state reporting requirements for child abuse and neglect; * Candidate must have dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers and displaced people; * Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.     TRAINING REQUIREMENTS  * Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training; * Satisfactory completion of funder required trainings upon hire and on an annual basis; and * Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.      PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity; * Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands; * Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying; and * Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).     EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY  U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants is an equal opportunity employer.
