Job Description This role oversees end-to-end wire transfer operations, managing a group responsible for processing high-value payments daily. The role focuses on modernizing internally built capabilities and transitioning the wire platform, while leading the legacy systems during the transformation. Responsible for the overall operational performance of assigned area or business line. Develops group-wide business plans, develops policies and ensures compliance. Evaluates and improves operational methods and strategies to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and/or controls. Leads collaborative efforts with other internal and external groups. Ensure and manage sufficient technological resources. Handles personnel matters. Key responsibilities: Provide leadership and oversight for the team, ensuring performance, and alignment with organizational goals. Maintain risk controls, audit practices, and accuracy due to the high value and risk associated with wire payments Lead and manage the legacy wire transfer application, while participating in modernization initiatives transitioning to new money movement capabilities (MMC) Collaborate regularly with internal teams (risk, product, technology, other operations groups), industry partners, and vendors Support and develop talent, preparing for future leadership transitions Participate in projects and modernization efforts, including implementation of new standards and technologies Basic Qualifications Management/supervisory experience 10 or more years of banking or other relevant experience Preferred Skills/Experience Proven experience in Core Operations Experience leading technology modernization initiatives, ideally in payments Experience with wire processing and legacy systems (Federal Reserve, Fedwire, SWIFT) Understanding of ISO message format standards for wire transfers, as recent industry changes require this knowledge AI and automation knowledge, as the team is deploying automation and AI solutions Risk management expertise, especially in high-value payment environments Knowledge of end-to-end wire payment processes, including onboarding, technology, financial control, and treasury FX/cross-border payment experience Strong focus on service delivery and customer satisfaction Leadership philosophy and vision, with openness to modernizing and solutioning Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or relevant field; or an MBA Well-developed verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of assigned unit(s) and relation to broader industry Effective verbal and written communication skills necessary Incumbent possesses strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Requires considerable tact, diplomacy and people skills Location Expectations This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week If there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.
