We are currently seeking a Project Manager for our Sustainability Consulting team for a full-time assignment supporting client and internal JLL property manager stakeholders across the US real estate portfolio in sustainability efforts. Our team's priorities are: Developing our people and inspiring others Delivering strategic solutions for clients Actively collaborating across platforms Supporting ambitions beyond the workplace Applying new technology and data to drive change What this job involves Reporting to the North America Investor Practice Lead, this role will be responsible for supporting our client’s U.S. real estate sustainability efforts, including property energy, water, and waste utility data needs, and regulatory compliance initiatives. This role is a full-time assignment on a client account and will work day-to-day with the client’s U.S. Sustainability lead while serving as a JLL employee on the Sustainability Consulting team. Location: Bethesda, MD, 4 days in office Notable responsibilities for this role will include: Utility Data Management & Compliance You will serve as a primary "Super User" of the client’s sustainability data platform (Cambio) as well as ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager (ESPM) and will help ensure accurate, complete, and audit-ready utility data to support energy benchmarking, Building Performance Standards (BPS) reporting, GRESB reporting, and green building certifications. This includes: Implementing and maintaining utility data workflows, including utility API connections and data ingestion processes Leading and supporting energy benchmarking compliance planning and submissions; maintaining trackers and documentation Supporting Building Performance Standards (BPS) reporting and compliance readiness across jurisdictions (e.g., LL97, DC BEPS, BERDO, Energize Denver, etc.) Driving data quality and coverage improvements across ESPM and Cambio platforms, including data cleanup and optimization Green Building Certifications & Compliance You will coordinate evidence collection and execution for green building certifications, including IREM Certified Sustainable Property and BOMA BEST. You will support properties with budgeting questions tied to compliance and performance initiatives and coordinate Tenant ESG Engagement efforts and communications. Process Development & Optimization You will build repeatable processes: SOPs, templates, trackers, and training materials. This includes collaborating with client stakeholders, property teams, and building tenants to ensure effective project delivery. Annual Priorities Immediate term (Q1–Q2): Utility API connections to properties (Feb–May) Energy benchmarking compliance (Apr–Jul) BPS reporting support (NYC, WA State, Boston) building on existing work (May–Jul) Q3–Q4 priorities: Support BPS readiness for next jurisdictions (DC, CO, etc.) Continue improving utility data coverage/optimization ESPM and Cambio data platform cleanup Support property sustainability budgeting questions Complete IREM Certified Sustainable Property and BOMA BEST certifications Coordinate Tenant ESG Engagement Required Qualifications Education and Experience: 3–5 years' experience in sustainability/energy, real estate operations, compliance, benchmarking, or utility data management Experience working with large real estate portfolios on sustainability priorities Advanced / "Super User" proficiency in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager (ESPM) Experience supporting green building certifications (planning, documentation, evidence collection, submissions) Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Building Performance Standards and energy benchmarking laws Strong data management capability (QA/QC, reconciliation, documentation, structured tracking) Familiarity with GRESB concepts and evidence readiness Strong project management skills (multiple workstreams, deadlines, stakeholder coordination) Refined communication skills with ability to work effectively with client, property teams, and tenants Preferred Qualifications Experience with utility data automation (APIs, aggregators, interval data, utility portals) Familiarity with property-level energy efficiency and decarbonization planning Experience working with large commercial real estate portfolios and property management teams Advanced Excel/Sheets skills (data QA, pivots, structured trackers) CEM, CEA, CxA, PE, LEED AP, WELL AP and/or Fitwel Ambassador a plus What you can expect from us We are an entrepreneurial, inclusive culture.
