Contract Web Developer | about-face Los Angeles | Remote WHO ARE WE? We are about-face beauty brand, makeup for everyone, everywhere created by Ashley Frangipane a.k.a. Halsey. Everyone has their own messy, mad, and personal method to become our greater selves. ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a Contract Web Developer to join our team. This person is an expert in code, and proficient in Shopify and CRM systems. You will help build and optimize our brand’s digital platforms. The ideal candidate is available on an “on-call” basis and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role will report to the E-commerce + Community/CX Manager. WHAT YOU’LL DO -Fully handle and complete all coding requests: CSS, HTML, JavaScript (knowledge of Ruby a plus) -Help build and optimize the brand website, ensuring functionality, speed, and responsiveness across all devices. -Suggest ways of improving site performance and functionality overall. -Help implement new features, landing pages, and digital experiences in collaboration with Creative and Marketing teams. -Manage integrations with third-party tools and platforms (e.g., Shopify, Klaviyo, CRM systems). -Read site error and SEO reports from Ahrefs and Google -Search Console and fix associated issues. -Troubleshoot technical issues, monitor site performance, and implement ongoing improvements for SEO, accessibility, and security. -Collaborate with E-Commerce to support product launches, promotional campaigns, and content updates. -Maintain clean, scalable, and well-documented code. WHAT YOU HAVE -3–5 years of experience as a Web Developer, preferably in beauty, fashion, or consumer brands -Coding experience required: Ruby on Rails, CSS, HTML, JavaScript -Experience with e-commerce platforms - Strong Shopify experience required -Familiarity with CMS platforms, SEO principles, and analytics tools (Google Analytics, etc.) -Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills -Experience with email development, and UX/UI design -Availability to be “on-call” for urgent needs WHAT WE OFFER Remote working $25/hr - $50/hr
