Job Title Program Manager, Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement Department Honors Program Job Code A51313 Job category Full Time Staff Terms and Hours Full Time Exempt Salary Range Starting salary at $49,310; commensurate with experience Job Summary The Program Manager for Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives and processes to support and strengthen the University Honors Program, Fellowships and Grants, Scholarship Day & Awards Breakfast, Undergraduate Research, and other initiatives that arise under the oversight of the Assistant Provost. The Program Manager is a key representative for the Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement on and off campus to coordinate the operational program functions. This position will advise students on fellowship and grant opportunities and support in the application process. The Program Manager reports to the Assistant Provost for Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement & Career Readiness. Core Duties • Develop and implement Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement (USE) program initiatives to drive student interest and active participation to support student success outcomes. Oversee policies and processes that support student applications, participation, and advisement in USE programs. • Build awareness of USE programs by providing program knowledge and leading institution wide work groups while building and enhancing collaborative relations with key faculty and staff to strengthen student engagement. • Track participation and measure outcomes for programming using applicable data and reporting tools to assess program goals and objectives, providing recommendations while working collaboratively with the Assistant Provost. • Perform budget management by monitoring and analyzing current spending, overseeing adjustment requests, provide forecasting for budget development, and prepare annual budgets for final approval. • Maintain and create content across multiple platforms through digital, web, and print that ensures cohesive messaging and identity across all USE materials and provides effective outreach to target audiences. • Provide direct advising to Honors Program students regarding curriculum requirements and oversee all administrative operations that support Honor Societies. • Maintain a strong knowledge of current fellowship and grant opportunities available for students, providing advisement to students on specific program information and application processes, including national competitive merit-based scholarships and fellowships. • Certify and endorse student applications to granting agencies as needed. • Provide advising expertise to granting agencies by serving as competition adjudicator when invited. • Serve as program representative at various events, such as but not limited to conferences, professional organizations, recruiting events and professional development events. • Manage aspects of event planning for USE events including but not limited to scheduling, coordination, promotional communications, and on-site execution to ensure high-quality experiences. • Supervise student employees. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring processes, setting of expectations, training and professional development, performance management and evaluations, and disciplinary processes up to termination of employment. • Participate in University committees as requested. Other duties as relevant to the duties of the position or as assigned by supervisor or designee. Education & Experience • Required: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study. • Required: Two years or more of professional experience with program coordination and/or academic advising. • Preferred: Master’s degree. • Preferred: Experience in Higher Education. • Or a combination of equivalent education and/or experience.
