The Program Coordinator in the Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (OUR) is responsible for recruiting and implementing research programs for undergraduate students in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences and/or the College of General Studies. The incumbent will participate in internal and external outreach efforts. The Program Coordinator will lead the Forbes & Fifth undergraduate journal, supervising its student employees, the journal editors and designers. This role will also teach sections of OUR courses such as First Approaches to Research. The program coordinator will supplement OUR programs by planning experiences for students to engage with research at Pitt. OUR administers several awards and scholarship programs for which this role will be critical in implementation, such as the Archival Scholars Research Award and Experiential Learning programs in partnership with units such as the Jewish Studies Program and the University of Pittsburgh Community Engagement Centers. Job Summary Executes the daily activities for an assigned program area, section, or special interest group. Manages administrative tasks and logistics. Conceives and implements co-curricular programs to include budgetary preparations and evaluations. Essential Functions Must be able to use a computer and keyboard and be able to use video communication technology (i.e., Zoom, Teams, etc.). Work is frequently conducted by email, telephone, in-person, and/or using video communications technology. The ability to communicate in a clear and concise fashion is essential. Physical Effort While on campus,this position is generally sedentary within an office setting, but the ability to travel around campus occasionally is necessary. Must be able to use a computer and keyboard and be able to use video communication technology (i.e., Zoom, Teams, etc.).
