The Senior Project Manager IT plays a critical role in leading and delivering complex IT projects within the Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO). This position requires strong technical acumen and proven experience managing all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation through implementation across various IT domains such as infrastructure, systems integration, application development, and cybersecurity. The Sr. PM partners closely with IT subject matter experts (SMEs), systems analysts, developers, and external vendors to ensure successful execution of IT-related projects that support organizational goals. Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of IT projects. Ensure scope, schedule, and budget are well-defined and aligned with business and technical requirements. Collaborate closely with IT SMEs, system analysts, architects, and developers to understand technical dependencies, sequence tasks, and translate them into actionable project plans. Build and maintain detailed project schedules that reflect the interdependencies of technical and business tasks. Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed. Proactively identify risks and issues, develop mitigation plans, and drive resolution in collaboration with IT and business stakeholders. Serve as the main point of contact for project communications. Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment. Apply appropriate project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project) to support project delivery. Guide cross-functional project teams, facilitate meetings, and ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and deliverables. Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes, improvement areas, and lessons learned to enhance future delivery. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field. PMP, PMI-ACP, or other relevant project management certification required. Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience; 5+ years of hands-on experience managing IT projects. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered. Solid understanding of IT processes, system development lifecycles, and enterprise technology environments. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent IT projects in a matrixed environment. Recent project management experience with the following types of projects: Project Type: Clinical System Enhancements: Optimizing or implementing electronic health records (EHR), clinical workflows, scheduling tools, and medication documentation within Epic or other platforms. Medical Device & Software Integrations: Integration of third-party clinical devices, smart monitoring systems, and specialty software into existing hospital systems for improved patient care and operational efficiency. Facility & Clinical Expansion: Buildout or expansion of ambulatory centers, operating rooms, or clinical units, including infrastructure planning and technology onboarding. IT Infrastructure & Network Upgrades: Upgrades and refreshes of hardware, networks, voice systems, storage, and security tools to maintain a modern and secure IT environment. Data, Reporting & Compliance Tools: Implementation of analytics platforms, regulatory reporting systems, inventory tracking, and quality/safety tools to support operational and compliance requirements. Preferred Skills Familiarity with infrastructure deployments, software rollouts, system migrations, cloud Infrastructure implementations. Experience with a University Health System and Health Applications projects is a plus. Working knowledge using Smartsheet to track project plans, and all project artifacts Process improvement project knowledge and mindset. Change management skills Comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience working with vendors, third-party providers, or consultants in IT project delivery.
