CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Researches and resolves benefit related issues and recommends solutions or alternate methods to ensure effective benefit operations. Conducts research on benefit programs including costing and utilization. Administers benefit plans such as 401k retirement plan and deferred compensation. Prepares reporting related to benefit plans, including 5500s, Summary Annual Reports, and support of the annual audit process. Researches and analyzes health and welfare benefit alternatives and recommends improvements in value cost proposition, accounting for competitive positioning, vendor qualification, and ROI. Identifies opportunities for operational improvements and works with various multi-functional project teams to implement identified changes. Assists with the review and design of benefit plans to determine optimal value for Team Members and the company. Analyzes benefits competitiveness compared with various benchmarks. Provides customer support for benefit programs through direct employee contact, and interfacing with external vendors and internal resources related to benefits. Responds to ongoing and ad hoc management information reporting needs in support of Benefits; ensures availability and accuracy of needed information while obtaining through most efficient means. Supports development, documentation, and ongoing modification of benefit budgets through analysis and direct contact with customers, external benefit vendors and consultants. Assists with development of benefit communication materials in coordination with internal and external resources to support promotion of benefits value. Researches benefit legal and regulatory compliance issues and recommends optional action plans to ensure plan compliance. Performs ad hoc project work as directed. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. CORE QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field Certification and Licensing: Not Applicable Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail. Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
