Department: Location: Belknap Campus, Health Sciences Center Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Regular Job Req ID: R107989 Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field and six (6) years of related experience with pneumatics, electrical and digital HVAC control devises, systems and their applications or an equivalent combination of education and experience Valid driver's license required and must be insurable by the University's insurance carrier. Grade 7 (salaried) Position Description: The Automation Systems Specialist IV position responsibilities include the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and replacement of pneumatic, electric, electronic, and direct digital controls for building HVAC systems. The candidate must have experience with installation, programming, start-up, commissioning, integration, troubleshooting, and repair of one or more direct digital control systems such as Siemens, Apogee, Schneider Electric I/A Series, Tridium Niagara R2, etc. Experience generating web-based graphics, alarms, trends, and other automated reports is required. The candidate should also have experience configuring and integrating various manufacturer graphical user interfaces, network-level controllers, and field-level controllers using BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, and proprietary protocols. The candidate must be able to pass FBI Form FD-961 clearance, be willing to be fingerprinted, and accept random drug testing. Strong computer skills with Excel, Visio, and Word, along with strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, are required. CEM or LEED AP certification is a plus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design, implement, test, and commission building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems (EMS). Manage Building Automation System and Energy management System employees with hiring, performance evaluations, and training. Manage contractor specifications, problems, performance, and administration. Assist in the acceptance phase of commissioning construction projects. Troubleshoot possible issues, including identifying and debugging software, electrical or pneumatic, and installation problems with BAS and EMS. Generate reports and recommendations on the performance, condition, operation, and maintenance of building equipment and systems. Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
