Manage day-to-day operations, design educational programming, and liaise between students and resources.
Experience managing programs, knowledge of policies affecting undocumented students, and ability to coordinate with legal and community organizations.
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Engagement and Support, the Program Director manages the day-to-day operations of the Center, designs and facilitates educational programming and trainings for students, staff, and faculty, and serves as a liaison between students in need of support and various resources within the university and the Chicagoland community. Duties & Responsibilities: • Support day-day-to-day operations of the Center. • Maintain working knowledge of current state/national and local policies impacting undocumented and mixed-status students. • Develop and facilitate trainings across campus with students, faculty and staff, in addition to with partnering organizations and schools, reflecting current policies and procedures. • Travel to meet with students directly impacted to provide resources and support. • Coordinate with legal service providers and community-based organizations to support students/families with detention and deportation needs. • Design, promote, and direct community organizing and advocacy campaigns for the university and in partnership with external stakeholders. • Serve as a liaison between students and necessary resources within the university and in the community at large. • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
