Full Description

The University of Chicago's Financial Markets Program prepares students for careers in quantitative finance through comprehensive programming and workshops focused on skill-building, networking, and recruiting readiness. This role will lead all aspects of this selective career readiness initiative, including cohort selection, event management, and employer relationship management and engagement to help students succeed in quantitative finance roles. This role is responsible for ensuring outcomes (e.g., internships, full-time roles) for all students within this portfolio. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee the end-to-end management of the Financial Markets Program, serving as the primary point of contact for approximately 200+ cohort members. • Advise students pursuing roles in quantitative finance and related fields, helping them build technical, professional, and industry knowledge. • Deliver outcomes for all students within portfolio by working with them proactively to identify and apply to opportunities, connecting them with industry professionals, and tracking their outcomes. • Design and deliver high-impact programming including weekly workshops, speaker events, and skill-building sessions. • Cultivate and manage relationships with employers across the financial markets ecosystem to expand internship and full-time opportunities for students. • Collaborate with faculty, alumni, and campus partners to align program offerings with industry trends and student needs. • Track outcomes and program metrics to inform continuous improvement and demonstrate impact. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in finance, higher education, or career development, preferably with exposure to quantitative finance or markets. • Excellent organizational, program management, and communication skills. • Strong advising, coaching, or mentoring skills with the ability to support students from diverse backgrounds. • Proven ability to build partnerships with employers and industry professionals. Preferred Qualifications: • Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Finance, or related field). • Familiarity with quantitative finance (e.g., engineering, trading, research).
