Responsibilities: Position Summary: Incumbent has strategic accountability for establishing the current and long-range vision of the UC Irvine Health IT infrastructure, and IT strategy aimed at keeping the organization on the forefront of change. As a key advisor to the CIO, incumbent in this position provides direction, technical advisement, and authorization to carry out major changes to infrastructure and IT processes or procedures. Incumbent promotes the consistency and standardization of the organization's present technology and the dissemination of technological information throughout the organization. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: • Working knowledge of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities. • Understanding of leading technological advancements and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies. • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle methodologies as adopted by the organization. • Successful experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of infrastructure software solutions. • Strong project management experience. • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies. • Strategic planning and execution leadership experience. • Specific knowledge of product lifecycle management, sourcing, DC operations, planning and supply chain. • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail. • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations that relate to healthcare IT • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management. • Experience leading and mentoring a collaborative team. • Experience in operations, infrastructure, application development, information security, and IT controls implementation. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English • Effective at prioritizing multiple initiatives with varying levels of significance and time frames. • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability to successfully drive people teams, process and technology change initiatives in a dynamic and complex operating environment. • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload • Ability to drive and implement solutions created using abstract concepts. • Ability to conduct research into hardware and software-related issues and products. • 10+ years’ experience managing and/or directing an IT operation of complex size and scale, including support of operations applications.
