Our mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education, and community service goals of the University. The Business Services Division within the Office of Information Technology oversees human resources and personnel management, facilities and space management, low and high value purchases, and provides administrative support to more than 420+ staff and students in support of UCI's mission. Responsibilities: Under general supervision of the Director of Business Services, the Business Services Coordinator uses skills as a seasoned, experienced financial service professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures. Resolves a wide range of issues. Oversees a complex portfolio of purchasing activities on behalf of OIT while ensuring that financial processing functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, travel / entertainment reimbursements are performed with accuracy. Has authority to make purchases while exercising judgment within defined limits and practices to determine most effective methodology to acquire common goods and services. Performs analysis on problems of moderate and complex scope where situations or data requires review of a variety of factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Qualifications: Required: • Strong knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures. • Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems. • Strong proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software. • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems. • Ability to function effectively as a member of a team. • Ability to adapt to changing priorities. • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources. • Leadership skills to provide guidance and training to professional and support staff in the financial processes, policies and procedures. • Thorough knowledge of procurement rules, regulations, policies and procedures concerning the purchase of goods and services. • Strong knowledge and management of vendor contracts and electronic purchase order requests via web-based solutions. • Adhere to OIT’s cultural values: Collaboration, Respect, Trust, Transparency, Quality, Inclusiveness, Customer Centricity, and Learning and Growth. • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training • 3-5 years of experience in related area.
