Job ID 83500 Location Davis Full/Part Time Full Time Job Summary Reporting to the Executive Director, Associated Students Business Management, Administration and Operations, and with a reporting relationship to the President of ASUCD, this is a critical position in the ASUCD Office. Provides direct supervision to ASUCD for matters related to campus special and mega events, marketing and strategic partnerships, student representation on UC Davis Administrative Advisory Committees (AAC) and general support to undergraduate student government. This position will work directly with ASUCD midsize to mega sponsored events and demonstrate solid subject matter knowledge as an advisor to and administration, and campus stakeholders. This position will provide direction, support, analyze and solve problems and lead long-term planning regarding operations, personnel and compliance with campus policies and procedures. Liaison with ASUCD and Provost's Office to promote AAC application process to all undergraduate students, review applications, assist in development of interview committees and questions, schedule interviews, and work with ASUCD to get candidates confirmed. Serve as a facilitator between the ASUCD and Intercollegiate Athletics. Serve as analyst to the Athletics Advisory Committee; participate on other committees that are relevant to the ASUCD's liaison role with the campus including Intercollegiate Athletics. Supervise staff to assure accountability and stewardship of ASUCD resources in compliance with department goals and objectives. Ability to work effectively with administrators and students with diplomacy and tact. Preferred Qualifications • Experience being a part of and/or working within an athletics environment in order to understand the complex organizational structure. • Prior experience planning midsize to large events. • 5+ years of related experience performing similar roles in a higher education setting or related setting, especially in areas of student government, coordination and student advising. • Experience working in a diverse environment and with diverse populations. • Experience mentoring undergraduate student employees that typically have flexible work schedules. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy. • Ability to uphold the highest level of professionalism in terms of relationship building. • Organizational skills to handle changing priorities, manage demanding workload, determine workload priorities and meet multiple deadlines, goals and objectives. • Skills to recognize and maintain strict security of confidential information and confidentially in dealing with delicate matters. • Ability to communicate professionally in person, on the telephone and in writing. • Strong political and organizational acumen. • Must be politically astute and able to see and address multiple sides of an issue. • Ability to be unbiased in the search for facts and information. • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
