Job Title: Program Director-Specialty Services (SPED) Overview: University Instructors (UI) seeks a dynamic Program Director passionate about supporting students to lead Specialty Service Pathway programs. In this role, you’ll work with district clients, school staff, UI internal staff, and key credentialing partners to support students. University Instructors LLC is an equal opportunity employer. Responsibilities In this role, you will: · Provide operational and organization growth support for Specialty Services leadership. This may look like: o Managing performance data and metrics tied to key performance indicators, etc. o Overseeing daily operations within Specialty Services to ensure programs are implemented with fidelity. o Providing expertise in special education compliance, especially as it relates to writing and implement Individual Education Program (IEPs) o Handling inquiries, issue resolution, and documentation. o Identifying process inefficiencies and implementing improvements. o Auditing systems, deliverables, client communications, and special education safety practices for quality assurance. o Assisting with business growth strategies. o Contributing to organizational planning and capacity expansion initiatives. · Provide Specialty Services team members with direction, training, mentorship, and resources to develop skillsets for team members. · Collaborate and manage relationships with key internal and external partners: o Liaise with state departments of education and educator preparation programs to deliver credentialing outcomes o Serve as a subject matter expert in special education o Guide client communications o Liaise with UI’s legal counsel to ensure compliance with laws and policies at the federal and state level o Ensure clear communication between leadership and team members · Support a caseload of K-12 districts and integrate the UI team and district and school-level personnel for UI programs. · Manage all elements of Specialty Services program implementations and supports, with a emphasis on special education supports. · Lead and facilitate meetings. · Communicate and meet consistently with Specialty Services leadership and direct reports to provide updates on progress, potential issues, and program concerns. · Provide Specialty Services with overall guidance for successful program implementation. · Make data-informed decisions to support Specialty Services in adapting to meet key performance indicators. · Lead collaboration efforts for UI internal teams (Business Development, Recruiting, Academics, Logistics, and Accounting) and UI clients (district partners and school leaders). · Maintain program budgets, projections, and other required compliance pieces. · Attend client meetings. · Complete other duties as required and assigned. Qualifications We are looking for someone who possesses: · Leadership, taking initiative, owning decisions, and the ability to manage and mentor a dynamic team · Passion for University Instructors’ mission, vision, and values · Adaptability to step in and learn quickly without much oversight in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment · Effective oral and written communication skills · An understanding of instructional pedagogies and methodologies · Excellent interpersonal skills · The ability to manage multiple systems and moving parts while ensuring key performance indicators and deadlines are met · Strong computer skills (Intermediate level - Microsoft Office Suites, Google Workspace) · Excellent time management and organizational skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and adapting · Competence in working independently, with little supervision, and collaboratively · Building relationships on trust and respect Education and Work Experience As a successful applicant, you must have a passion for advocating for and helping students succeed. Additionally, you will need to: · Hold a bachelor’s degree, required · Hold a master’s degree in administration, educational leadership, urban education, etc., strongly preferred · Demonstrate ONE of the following: o At least 3 years of experience working in a K-12 educational setting as a grade level lead, department chair, instructional lead, coach, assistant principal, etc. OR o Any similar combination of education and experience · At least 5 years of supervisory experience as an educational administrator experience, strongly preferred · K-12 special education experience supporting an IEP caseload, strongly preferred · Project management experience, strongly preferred.
