Accurately register patients, schedule procedures, handle billing and collections, and maintain patient confidentiality.
High school diploma or GED, 1+ years of medical office experience, typing skills, and knowledge of medical coding and terminology.
• Primary responsibilities are accurate and efficient patient registration, procedure scheduling, charge transmittals, collections, and procurement. • Representatives must use quality customer service techniques to ensure patient needs are met. • Maintain professional interpersonal skills with patients, physicians and co-workers. • Supports department operations as needed. • Performs other duties as assigned. • Complies with all policies and standards. • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. • Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. • Part time 20 hours per week. • Monday-Friday. • The location is the Physical Therapy Sheffield Ortho Clinic in the Elyria Medical Center. • High School Equivalent / GED required. • 1 years related experience as a Secretary/Receptionist preferred and • Customer service experience preferably in the medical field required. • Typing skills - 30 wpm. • Excellent verbal/communication skills. • Detail oriented. • Basic computer knowledge. • ICD9 coding and medical terminology.
