The IST Analyst II (Report Writer) will facilitate the development and modification of the clinical reporting strategy for the UH EPIC EMR system. This includes creating reports, troubleshooting issues, and providing analytical assistance to clinical decision makers.
Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in a health-related discipline or a related field and three years of experience in information systems, preferably in a patient care environment. Strong communication, organizational skills, and experience with electronic medical records are preferred.
Overview About the Role Under direction, the IST Analyst II (Report Writer) will be responsible for supporting the clinical reporting process and reporting needs. Duties include creating and modifying clinical reports, report writing training, issues troubleshooting, analytical assistance and fostering of best practice across system users. This person must be able to function under deadlines and may be subject to heavy workloads. This is an onsite/hybrid position based at Newark, NJ. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Facilitates the development, modification and adherence of the UH EPIC EMR system wide clinical reporting strategy. This includes defining the scope of clinical reporting, developing a report request, approval and prioritization processes, creation of the EPIC report using the hospitals implemented Epic Tools and monitoring report creation queues. Develops reporting solutions and/or ad hoc data analysis to support the needs of clinical decision makers across the system. Researches, analyzes and understands clinical flow in order to facilitate clinical report writing and support of other clinical report writers. Serves as an information consultant to system teams as required and actively promotes Information Management as a systemwide resource. Interacts with users and other technical areas to gather requirements and compiles data. Develops documentation, formulates and applies policies and procedures. Performs systems tuning, monitoring and trend analysis. Qualifications What You’ll Bring Required: Bachelor's Degree in health related discipline, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field. Three (3) years of experience in information systems with preference given to candidates from a patient care environment. Strong detail oriented and organizational skills, demonstrates interpersonal skills working in a service oriented environment. Effective oral and written communications skills, interpersonal skills, problem solving and capable of functioning in a team environment are a must. Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements. Preferred: Direct experience with electronic medical records is preferred. Two (2) years of experience in clinical analysis and/or clinical report creation preferred. Experience with Business Objects Crystal Report Writer is preferred.
