JOB TITLE: Assistant Health Center Director FLSA: Exempt REPORTS TO: Sr. Director of Health Center Operations INTRODUCTION Under the supervision of the Sr. Director of Health Center Operations and dyad with the Medical Director for SBHC is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the health center. MAJOR DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following: * Leadership & Operations Management * Provides operational leadership and general direction to Unity staff on a daily basis to include Patient Registration Clerks, Care Coordinators and Medical Assistants. * Coordinates daily, weekly, monthly schedules, and assignments of staff and completes payroll recordkeeping. * Leads weekly SBHC huddles and staff meetings * Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates processes that optimize day-to-day operations and programs. * Manages and assists in the maintenance of provider schedules, staff time and attendance records, and office inventory and supply control. * Collaborates with administrative staff to provide general services of maintenance and housekeeping. * Onboards new staff; completes performance evaluations of staff. * Collaborates and consults with nursing leadership on quality, safety, vaccine compliance and training initiatives * Acts as liaison between with Unity, High school leadership and DC Health expanding program offering and enhancing the quality of existing programs * Develops and manages budgets and reporting on fund allocation and assesses program strengths or weaknesses * Produces accurate and timely reporting of program status and ensures grant deliverables are met on established reporting cycles * Coordinate and lead targeted outreach activities focused on promoting, integrating, and informing students, families, school staff, and the general school community about the health Center services * Coordinate educational outreach activities focused on health promotion and health education to students * Collaborates with community partners to increase awareness and expansion of programs * Participates in grant application process including review, revision and submission * administrators * Collaborates with the school nurse to ensure continuity of care with outside providers MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the applicant to successfully perform the duties of the position.. * Two years of supervisory experience (preferably in an office practice) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the applicant to successfully perform the duties of the position.. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * Experience with underserved population or other special needs populations. * Experience in working in a nonprofit primary care ambulatory health center or the equivalent. * Demonstrated experience in using good judgment in working with diverse populations. * Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities. * Ability to articulate the mission of Unity Health Care through his/her work. SUPERVISORY CONTROLS The position reports to the Health Center Director. GUIDELINES The position abides by all rules and regulations set forth by applicable licensing and regulatory bodies, as well as UHC policies and procedures. PERSONAL CONTACTS The position requires contact with staff at all levels throughout the organization. There are also external organization relationships that may be a part of the work of this individual. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items such as books and paper is required. See the ADA Physical Efforts Effort Checklist. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS The incumbent must be able to balance the needs of diverse constituencies on a daily basis. The position requires: a) integrated management of all administrative support, fiscal and operational aspects of a high traffic administrative office; b) planning, organization, and control of meetings and projects; c) establishment and implementation of workflow patterns and operating standards across multiple internal departmental activities; d) project planning, training, marketing and promotions, development and implementation e) provide leadership that promotes trust, cooperation, and high levels of performance. RISKS All medical services shall be provided according to medically accepted community standards of care. The position’s work involves everyday risk and discomforts, which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meetings, training rooms, and other UHC sites. The work area is adequately lit, heated, and ventilated.
