Position Summary Join our dynamic team as a Senior Software Engineer and Technical/Team Lead for the Curo Medical Management Platform at Optum Technology. In this critical role based in Schaumburg, IL, you will own tech-ready delivery for platform implementations, ensuring close alignment with vital business commitments. You will drive operational excellence by maintaining 100%25 release success and 100%25 sprint predictability across engineering teams. Leading technical strategy, you will architect, solution, and design ahead of sprint planning in adherence with Technical Design Review decisions. Additionally, you will play a hands-on role in optimizing infrastructure utilization for existing volumes by fine-tuning user interfaces, middle-tier services, and database performance to minimize resource consumption while delivering an exceptional user experience. Primary Responsibilities Serve as the Technical and Team Lead for the Curo Medical Management Platform, owning technical delivery for implementations aligned with business commitments. Maintain 100%25 release success and 100%25 sprint predictability across engineering squads. Solution, design, and architect applications ahead of sprint planning cycles, ensuring full alignment with Technical Design Review guidelines. Optimize infrastructure utilization and resource consumption by fine-tuning performance across the entire application stack, including user interfaces, middle-tier microservices, and databases. Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered features, integrations, and automated solutions to solve complex business problems, emphasizing the responsible and ethical use of AI. Leverage enterprise-approved AI tools and coding assistants to streamline development workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and drive continuous engineering excellence. Evaluate emerging technologies and AI trends to inform scalable solution design, system performance, and strategic platform innovation. You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in CS or IT related field. 5+ years of software engineering experience developing enterprise-grade applications. 3+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot (including Spring Data) within a microservices architecture. 2+ years of experience with React / Next.js (including Server-Side Rendering (SSR) and App Router) and component-driven UI library development. 2+ years of experience with relational database development, schema design, and performance optimization, specifically using PostgreSQL. 1+ years of experience working with monorepo architectures (such as Turborepo or npm workspaces) and REST API (Open API/Swagger) or GraphQL design. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, async frameworks) and TypeScript/JavaScript. Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and utilizing advanced prompt engineering techniques to enhance applications. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or other enterprise AI coding assistants) to accelerate and optimize code delivery. Experience with modern UI styling tools (Tailwind CSS, Radix UI) and building reusable, accessible component libraries. Proven ability to mentor developers, lead technical design reviews, and establish architectural standards across teams Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
