Reporting to the Director, Identity & Privacy, the Lead Digital Product Manager is responsible for translating our identity and privacy strategy into tangible products, capabilities, and experiences that enable trusted, compliant use of consumer data across the Experience Data Platform. Embedded with one or more Identity & Privacy engineering pods, this role focuses on the end-to-end product lifecycle for identity and privacy capabilities - such as matching, consolidation, verification, consent management, and privacy controls - so that marketing, analytics, AI, and other stakeholders can confidently use data while protecting consumer trust. The Lead Digital Product Manager will actively own and evolve one or more identity and privacy product areas. This includes shaping the product vision and roadmap, leading discovery with business partners, defining requirements, prioritizing work in collaboration with the assigned pods and broader Engineering teams, and measuring adoption, performance, and compliance. The role partners closely with Architecture, Engineering, Legal/Privacy, Security, and business stakeholders to ensure that solutions are impactful, feasible, and compliant with policy and regulation. This role requires advanced product management skills, comfort with complex data and identity environments, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences. The Lead Digital Product Manager independently leads complex initiatives, owns one or more product areas end-to-end, serves as the primary product counterpart to the assigned pods, and collaborates with cross-functional and executive stakeholders to drive decisions. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities: Drive delivery for identity and privacy capabilities, including sourcing, matching, consolidation, verification, and consent management, in alignment with the overall Experience Data strategy Define and maintain product roadmaps aligned to privacy, security, analytics, and compliance standards Lead discovery and stakeholder research to understand user needs, regulatory requirements, and business objectives; incorporate insights into the product roadmap and solution design Serve as product owner for one or more Identity & Privacy engineering pods, overseeing and maintaining the product backlog and sprint plans for those pods Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Legal/Privacy, Security, and other stakeholders to plan and prioritize initiatives for impact, feasibility, risk, and compliance, ensuring the pods are working on the most valuable work Apply automation and AI/ML where appropriate to improve identity resolution accuracy, consent handling, and privacy monitoring effectiveness Track adoption, performance, risk, and compliance metrics to drive continuous improvement of identity and privacy capabilities Write and refine epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria that guide the assigned pods and reflect identity, security, and privacy requirements Manage product backlogs and sprint planning with the pods to ensure aligned, consistent delivery Lead and participate in agile ceremonies (e.g., backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives) with the pods, ensuring transparency across progress, decisions, and outcomes Ensure alignment between business needs and technical execution throughout the product lifecycle by acting as the day-to-day product contact for the pods Track and actively optimize key delivery milestones, dependencies, blockers, and risks to maintain visibility into capability roadmaps and upcoming releases Represent the Identity & Privacy team in intake, discovery, cross-functional planning, and platform forums; ensure identity and privacy requirements are understood early Communicate product vision, plans, and progress to leadership and stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling way Serve as a go-to expert in the assigned product space; mentor and coach junior product managers (where applicable), providing feedback on deliverables and guidance on product practices Perform other duties as assigned You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: 6+ years of demonstrated Product Owner experience in Agile/Scrum (or equivalent), including end-to-end delivery, backlog ownership, and sprint planning in complex environments Demonstrated experience serving as Product Owner for an embedded engineering pod (or equivalent), driving prioritization and managing delivery trade-offs Hands-on experience with modern cloud data and analytics platforms (e.g., Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI/Tableau, SQL, Adobe Experience Platform) Working knowledge of identity resolution and privacy concepts (e.g., matching, resolution, verification, consolidation, consent, etc.) and governance (e.g., quality, lineage/metadata, compliance) Demonstrated experience building and managing roadmaps for identity, privacy, or data platform capabilities, including discovery through delivery Demonstrated experience translating stakeholder needs and policy or regulatory requirements into epics, user stories, and clear acceptance criteria Demonstrated experience partnering across Architecture, Engineering, and business stakeholders, plus Legal/Privacy and Security, to deliver compliant platform capabilities Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-domain dependencies and execution while maintaining alignment to platform priorities and risk controls Demonstrated solid analytical and problem-solving skills, using data and metrics to assess performance, diagnose issues, and inform decisions Demonstrated solid written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to drive alignment across technical and non-technical teams and deliver executive-ready updates Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities while maintaining delivery focus and accountability Preferred Qualifications: Experience with identity and privacy capabilities such as identity graphs/MDM, matching and deduplication, identity resolution, consent management, and privacy controls Experience supporting enterprise-scale consumer data platforms and data domains (e.g., ingestion, transformation, publishing) Experience analyzing and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative inputs to inform roadmap priorities, identify risks/opportunities, and recommend actions Experience using product and delivery tooling (e.g., Aha!, Rally, or similar) to manage work, dependencies, and delivery reporting Experience mentoring and coaching other product managers and/or influencing product practices across a team Familiarity leveraging AI-enabled tools to accelerate analysis, reporting, and/or product workflow (e.g., automated insights, anomaly detection, AI-assisted documentation) *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
