Job Description: The Centralized Surgical Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective coordination of specialized surgical procedures across a healthcare network. This role involves collaborating with multiple providers, Compliance Medical Officers, and Chief Medical Officers to ensure proper documentation, coding, compliance, and scheduling of surgical cases. The coordinator will also provide backup support for site-specific posters, assist in training new posters, and provide other staff site support such as Front Desk, Check-out, and Point of Contact. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Collaborate with multiple providers across the network to facilitate the scheduling and posting of specialized surgical procedures. Ensure that all required clinical documentation is accurately recorded in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to support specialized surgical posting. Work closely with and Coordinate with the Chief Medical Officer and Compliance Medical Officer for accurate coding and reimbursement of surgical procedures. Actively participate in POD ASC/CUA scheduling review calls to ensure the accurate posting, scheduling, and pre-operative coordination of surgical cases. Provide case status updates to multiple providers and Site Managers to ensure the full utilization of providers' Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) schedules. Offer backup support for site-specific posters during vacancies, vacations, or callouts to ensure uninterrupted surgical scheduling. Provide other staff site support, including Front Desk, Check-out, and Point of Contact coverage as needed. Assist in training and onboarding of new posters to ensure they are well-versed in the specialized surgical coordination process. Meet with new physicians who will be performing specialized surgeries to understand their preferences and requirements. Coordinate and allocate time for procedures based on physician preferences. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred. Minimum of five (5) years Surgical Posting experience. Knowledge, Competencies & Skills: Proficient knowledge of Medical Terminology; ICD-9 and CPT-4 Codes. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective healthcare team member. Proven organizational skills, ability to prioritize effectively, ability to multi-task, effectively problem-solve, and work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer software and database skills. Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and bring forth ideas to enhance positive patient care. Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute. Travel: Must have the ability & willingness to travel to other sites as necessary within a geographic region. Physical Requirements for the Job: Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods. Involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, and twisting. Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. May be required to help to transfer the patient. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 lbs. Job Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour Actual compensation offered to candidates is based on work experience, education, skill level, and geographic location. Compensation may vary depending on the state or region in which the position is located, in accordance with applicable laws. This position has no close date.
