5+ years mechanic experience with food manufacturing equipment, skilled in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, knowledge of GMPs, OSHA, PLC operations, able to work weekends and adverse conditions, team player.
Overview We are seeking an Industrial Food Processing Mechanic with extensive experience in the maintenance and operation of various food processing machinery such as: packaging equipment, mixers, bowl choppers, conveyors, etc. The ideal candidate should be highly skilled in equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, as well as full-scale electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs. Additionally, the candidate must possess a strong understanding of safety and food safety regulations and procedures. This role requires quick, efficient troubleshooting skills to resolve equipment breakdowns during production, ensuring minimal downtime. Duties The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to: • Follow a robust preventative maintenance schedule and perform routine maintenance on all production machinery, diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and control issues and providing efficient, timely solutions. • PMI's includes: inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and ensuring proper functionality of all machinery/equipment • Repair or replace malfunctioning mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control components or systems, ensuring equipment is operating properly • Disassemble, evaluate, repair, and rebuild equipment and machinery as necessary, and ordering and using new parts as required. • Ability to change out or set up equipment, i.e., mixers, pumps, packaging equipment. • Assist in the overall facilities planning process and help manage parts inventory. • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times. • Close teamwork with the production and operations teams to review schedules and assist with optimal production schedule. Skills • Knowledge in utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities. • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to identify and quickly resolve issues to minimize downtime and improve overall process efficiency. • Providing excellent customer service while interacting with staff and vendors. • Proactive approach to maintenance to ensure that corrective measures are implemented before they escalate into significant problems. Qualifications Candidates should have the following qualifications: • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a mechanic, with in-depth knowledge of food manufacturing equipment and processes • Skilled in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, with demonstrated expertise in the repair and maintenance of food processing machinery • Solid understanding of GMPs, OSHA regulations, and PLC operations, ensuring compliance and optimal machine performance • Able to work weekends, and holidays, required • Able to work in adverse temperatures, and damp environments, required • Team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus • Prior experience in manufacturing environments is preferred Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $25.00 per hour Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
