United Black Family Scholarship Foundation (UBFSF) Remote | Volunteer | 6–10 hours/week • - Join the leadership team of a growing national nonprofit at the forefront of social justice, prison reform, and community empowerment. The United Black Family Scholarship Foundation (UBFSF) is seeking a visionary and experienced Program & Policy Director to help guide the development, execution, and oversight of programs and policy initiatives that uplift incarcerated individuals, their families, and underserved communities across the United States. This volunteer role is ideal for a dedicated changemaker with a strong background in nonprofit leadership, community organizing, or public policy. You’ll work closely with our Executive Committee, Project Managers, and partner organizations to ensure our programs create measurable, lasting impact. • - Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Lead the design and execution of UBFSF’s internal and external policy initiatives aligned with our mission to dismantle systemic racism and poverty. Team Oversight & Support: Supervise and train Program Managers and volunteer staff to effectively implement and manage programs. Program Development: Plan, draft, and launch innovative programs that reflect the needs of incarcerated communities and their loved ones. Impact Evaluation: Develop and implement tracking systems to assess program success and community impact. Recommend improvements or pivots as needed. Partnership Building: Collaborate with universities to manage internship programs and secure MOUs with grassroots and legal partners. Governance Role: Serve as Chair of the Program & Policy Committee and a voting member of the Executive Committee, contributing to high-level decision-making and long-term strategy. • - Required Qualifications: 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience Proven success in nonprofit program or policy work Strong communication, organizational, and team management skills Commitment to equity, restorative justice, and grassroots leadership Comfortable working remotely and across diverse teams Why Join UBFSF?
