We believe in an inclusive workplace that fosters creativity.   If you are seeking a career that will challenge, inspire, and reward you, join us at UBC!    Job Title:  YLM04I-Senior Project Manager, SERRM (Safety, Epidemiology, Registries, and Risk Management) Brief Description:  As a Senior Project Manager for UBC’s Safety and Risk Management Department, you will be responsible for contributing to, tracking, and coordination of activities for SERRM projects. The individual will be involved in project management, research and business development functions. Specific job duties: * Project Management & Finance * Coordinate project-related activities in the SERRM group, with direct responsibility for ongoing tracking, management and follow-up of tasks and deliverables * Monitor and provide visibility to SERRM project timelines to help manage workload in the group and make group members aware of upcoming deliverables and due dates.  Quantify timeliness by tracking planned, actual and revised delivery dates.  If revised, provide reason for revision to project scope * Monitor and present project hours utilization * Determine resourcing in collaboration with SERRM group management for specific projects as needed * Provide input to Contracts Management group to revise scope of work as needed for projects and budget revisions as required  * Where appropriate, communicate delivery or completion of project deliverables to Finance to track invoicing and follow-up * Scientific * Lead and manage the operations of risk management projects, epidemiologic studies and/or registries.  Participate as needed in other epidemiology, registries and/or risk management-related projects independently.  Be a participant in other SERRM group research projects * Participate in preparation and design of RiskMAPs, protocols, reports, abstracts, and manuscripts * Participate in SERRM group and client project teams * May prepare EU Risk Management Plans (RMPs) and other risk management-related documents (e.g., risk evaluation mitigation strategy (REMS) and risk minimization educational materials) * May perform literature search and retrieval of information regarding epidemiology, non-clinical and clinical data from various sources (e.g., periodic safety update reports (PSURs), drug utilization studies (DUS), post-marketing safety data etc.) * Process Improvement * Contribute to overall process improvement for department  * Assist with standard operating procedures (SOP) development and maintenance * Take an active role in process improvement/initiatives and see through to completion   * Business Development * Support development of proposals – both description of services and budget.  * Monitor and report contract status for new business as a liaison between the Finance department and the project team. Supervisory Responsibility: N/A Desired Skills and Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree (scientific, pharmaceutical and or related degree preferred)  * Relevant experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology or clinical research organization.   * Experience in protocol writing, study design and operations is helpful, as is familiarity with medical and scientific terminology * Knowledge of project management techniques and tools * Professional, organized, detailed-oriented with a high degree of accuracy, self-motivated and quality driven * Enjoys fast-paced environment, challenge of learning about different health-related and research areas * Strong written and verbal communication/ interpersonal skills  * Strong computer skills (word processing, including proficiency with tables and figures) Benefits: At UBC, employee growth and well-being are always at the forefront.
