Role Description Lead UBC’s strategic feasibility and evidence-generation design function to create market-leading solutions for post-marketing research, value demonstration, hybrid studies, and registration-support trials. Combines strategic feasibility leadership with innovative study design and includes a billable component for active projects. Reports To: VP, Global Strategy & Integrated Delivery Key Responsibilities: • Strategic Feasibility & Risk Assessment • Conduct proactive, data-driven feasibility analyses. • Evaluate patient population, country/site selection, protocol complexity, and regulatory landscape. • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies. • Differentiated Study Design & Evidence Strategy • Serve as a thought leader in modern study methodologies, applying deep expertise to design innovative, fit-for-purpose research architectures. • Develop tailored study designs that incorporate advanced approaches such as: • Interoperability technologies • Real-world data (RWD) integration • Decentralized and hybrid trial models • Devices and wearables • Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning • RWE-driven database studies • Build and maintain strong partnerships with site networks, third-party solution providers, and RWD vendors, ensuring these capabilities are effectively integrated into UBC’s research offerings. • Provide strategic guidance on when and how to leverage these methodologies to optimize trial success. • Translate complex design concepts into clear, compelling client-facing strategies and contribute to UBC’s marketing and thought leadership initiatives. • Business Development & Strategic Support • Provide methodological and operational input for proposals and bid defenses. • Identify, onboard, cultivate, and govern strategic partnerships with site networks, third-party solutions, and RWD vendors. • Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership • Act as technical expert and liaison across BD, study teams, and site operations. • Lead feasibility processes from initial assessment through delivery. • Maintain deep industry knowledge. Qualifications • 12–15+ years in clinical research or related field. • Deep expertise in site operations and landscaping, feasibility analysis, RWD, decentralized trials, and modernized study design. • Strong scientific, analytical, and strategic thinking skills. • Ability to collaborate across functions and influence senior stakeholders. • Excellent writing and presentation skills for client-facing deliverables.
