About The Role The Head of Social Impact is responsible for leading the execution of Uber's social impact programs and partnerships, with a particular focus on disaster response and community-based initiatives. This role translates company priorities into well-run, high-impact programs, ensures Uber can respond quickly during moments of crisis, and drives creative storytelling around impact. The role manages a small team and works closely with cross-functional partners to deliver results at speed. What You'll Do • Own the management and performance of Uber's social impact partnerships, ensuring programs are delivered effectively and aligned with agreed objectives. • Lead execution of Uber's global disaster response efforts, coordinating rapid activations with internal teams and external partners during emergencies and humanitarian events. • Develop and launch new partnerships and programs in partnership with internal stakeholders, identifying opportunities to extend Uber's impact in communities. • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for NGO and nonprofit partners, managing governance, deliverables, and ongoing collaboration. • Drive creative storytelling and visibility of social impact work, working closely with Communications and Marketing teams to bring programs to life through compelling narratives and moments. • Collaborate with Policy, Communications, Marketing, Product, and Legal teams to ensure social impact initiatives are integrated into broader efforts. • Define and track program KPIs and impact metrics, ensuring progress is measured and learnings are incorporated into future work. • Manage and develop a Social Impact team, setting clear priorities, supporting professional growth, and ensuring high-quality execution. • Build and maintain operational playbooks and processes to enable the team to move quickly and confidently, particularly during crisis response. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience in social impact, partnerships, program management or operations • Experience expertly managing competing priorities, delivering high-quality individual output while overseeing the daily operations and growth of a team. Preferred Qualifications • Proven experience leading complex programs and partnerships , ideally in a global or multi-market context. • Demonstrated ability to execute quickly and effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments. • People management experience, including hiring, performance management, and team development. • Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. • Experience supporting or executing disaster response or humanitarian programs. • Background in technology, platforms, or organizations operating at scale. • Strong creative instincts, with experience shaping compelling stories or campaigns around impact. • Comfort balancing multiple priorities and shifting quickly as circumstances evolve. • Previous tech industry experience. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$190,000 per year - USD$211,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
